Terms of use
BeforeYouMove is an operational first version for property move research and decision support. These terms explain what the site is for, what it does not do, and what you still need to verify elsewhere.

Information only
Use the site as a starting point, not as professional advice
BeforeYouMove does not provide legal, financial, mortgage, tax, surveying, planning, insurance, or other regulated professional advice. Use the site to organise your research, then confirm important decisions with official records and qualified advisers.
Purpose of the site
Decision support for move research
The site brings together calculators, public data summaries, area signals, postcode checks, and shortlist tools to help you compare places and prepare follow-up questions before you commit to a move.
Data source limits
Public datasets can change, lag, or be incomplete
Some information comes from public datasets and third-party records. Those sources can be delayed, withdrawn, incomplete, or wrong after collection, so you must verify anything important with the original source.
Tools and calculators
Estimates depend on assumptions
Calculators and planning tools use assumptions to give quick estimates. They are useful for screening options, but they do not guarantee affordability, borrowing, planning outcomes, connectivity, flood exposure, or any other result.
Property and area information
Suitability remains your decision
Area reports, postcode pages, school comparisons, and local signals are there to support decision making. They do not guarantee that a place will suit your needs, household, timetable, or risk tolerance.
Third-party links
External sources remain outside our control
The site may link to councils, public records, official datasets, or other third-party services. We do not control those services, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or decisions.
Availability
The service may change or be interrupted
We work to keep BeforeYouMove available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent routes, or that every page and dataset will always be available.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully and without abuse
You must not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unlawful access, scrape it abusively, or use it in a way that harms other users, the service, or third-party data providers.
Liability and changes
Verify important decisions independently
You are responsible for checking important facts with official sources and qualified professionals before you rely on them. To the fullest extent allowed by law, BeforeYouMove is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site without that independent verification.
We may update these terms as the service changes.
