Summary

UK-AIR is the UK government air quality information service. It provides monitoring information, the Daily Air Quality Index, modelled data and local air quality management resources. Air Quality Management Areas are places declared by local authorities where air quality objectives are not being met or are at risk of not being met.

Definition

UK-AIR is DEFRA’s air information resource for air pollution data, monitoring networks, modelled background maps and Local Air Quality Management material. An Air Quality Management Area is declared by a local authority after review and assessment identifies that air quality objectives are not likely to be achieved. For an area check, buyers should use UK-AIR and the local authority dashboard to understand whether the property sits near monitoring sites, major roads or an AQMA.
